Do NOT use this company. They have had two attempts to refurbish my gearbox and on both occasions it has come back worse. They also lost some parts of my car. The communications have been appalling with zero pro-activity on their part and constant chasing on mine. I am now stuck with a random and poorly repaired gearbox in my matching numbers Land Rover meaning its export value is now zero - they fitted it without my prior knowledge or consent. They are refusing to refund the enormous bill I have paid them and have stopped answering communications. Am taking to court to recover my wasted money. Avoid, avoid, avoid. If I could get them zero stars I would.

Purchased a very expensive exchange Land Rover gearbox from them summer 2022, decided on Hobsons having been told over the phone that they also build them for LR genuine parts. All was fine for a few thousand miles then one day while maneuvering the vehicle changing from reverse to 1st gear it locked solid, vehicle could not be moved. Several days of phone calls followed and after just over a week a replacement gearbox arrived together with a verbal promise of ''we'll cover the fitting cost when we've examined the failed unit''. Given that I'm 300 miles from Hobsons the only practical option was to get it fitted locally. The failed unit was collected and then the wait began. 4 months later I'm still waiting for either explanation or the promised help with the fitting cost. Calls and emails are not returned. Sadly this is not the end of the story either, the replacement gearbox is horrible to use, the selector mechanism has clearly not been adjusted correctly, the gearstick flaps up and down as you drive, reverse gear is found somewhere in the passenger footwell and it has a weak syncro on 5th. Not impressed with Hobsons.
