I usually find the staff friendly & helpful , but unfortunately a person who said he was the manager stopped the other staff in their bid to help. Whilst I understood his concern at me using my own powered tool to cut 2 rods on site to fit my vehicle. The hire shop would of had a tool to do it, but he was not willing to let his staff help. Which soured all the previous good experiences with the plant hire & materials I have had from them recently.

Tried to charge me over £70 for a handful of endfeed fittings.
As I live in sandy it would have been convenient to be able to use them every now and again but looks like I will have to stick to my regular suppliers.

This is just my opinion of this business. It is a negative one unfortunately.

On the handful of occasions I have been here, the front desk have been fairly indifferent to me and not at all friendly or helpful. Over the 15 years I have lived literally down the road, it has been a chore as customer services to non-trade customers is poor in my experience. I rarely use them and my experience this time will ensure I just won't bother in the future. They obviously don't need my small trade. Its a shame as I would prefer to give back to the independent businesses in my area.

They offer services to the Trade and to non-trade. I'm not in the trade, maybe that is the reason for my feeling of alienation. If the 'customer' doesn't have the full information, don't ask. Laymen beware! Their attitude is not customer service focussed.

In any case, I have decided never to visit here again. Instead I will turn left and visit Travis Perkins, who's staff greet you when you enter, playfully take the micky when you order a nonexistent item. I have always left with what I needed and with a smile on my face.
