My family have been using the Howards' family butchers for 30+ years. Their produce is always of the highest quality. They are always happy to accommodate your requirements if you want something specific too. I highly recommend their red poll beef.

My previous butcher having gone into retirement made it necessary to visits Howards the butchers at Gayton. The shop looks very neat and tidy with all the same size steaks lined up, the same size chops, the same size rashers of bacon, it was like being in a Supermarket, in fact the meat relected exactly that, poor quality steak, rashers of bacon full of water, a bacon joint so salty it virtually dehydrated you, and pork steaks that were like, well just indescribable, absolutely no taste whatsoever.
This is not what I would class as a village butcher, I will not be visiting again.

I drive across two counties to shop here for the Xmas holiday, the game meat is of excellent quality and the selection on offer is immense, friendly, efficient, helpful and experienced staff - a pleasure to do business with.
