Absolutely amazing experience! The guys were brilliant teachers and great characters. Gave us loads of time to learn the tools, practise techniques and why we use those techniques. We got to keep everything we made and they helped us understand how to get the polished or unpolished-bespoke look we wanted. Allowed us to be creative, safe and have a great day. 10/10 would definitely recommend! Cheers guys 👍

Had the best time with John on our forge day. A great teacher he was both fun and patient. We learnt how to make a rose a twisted heart and an bird. It was facinating to have a go at such a beautiful craft and get a real appreciation for how skilled and difficult it actually is. To come away with pieces that will last a lifetime is such a blessing. It was a truly memorable experience. One that i fully recommend one that I will never forget.

I don’t have the words give justice to how great John and Liam are.
My friend Kate spent the day with them after I won a competition for a full day blacksmithing workshop for me and a friend.
John’s teaching skills are outstanding as is his patience. Kate and I really felt that we learnt so much and completely loved the day. We made four things each and will be planning to go back soon.
John and Liam craft beautiful things and I have a log holder that will last forever.
If you get the opportunity to do one of these workshops, buy one of their beautifully hand made items or need any foundry work completing use John O’Hara and Son Ridgeway Forge. You won’t find a better one or nicer people.
Thank you John and Liam for the most wonderful day.

Absolutely fantastic day with John and Liam. Both of them are excellent teachers and great fun to be around, loved the banter. I've always wanted to try forging, welding, etc. and learning about them in such a fun and relaxed environment was an experience I'll remember for life. They also instruct you how to make a bunch of awesome souvenirs you can take home to remember the experience by. Definitely worth it, one of the best days I've ever had, I'll be sure to stop in and say hello whenever I pass by again!

I took John up on a quote he provided to renew the rusty side hatches and stern doors on my narrowboat. Whilst different from his bread & butter work he did a great job - the hatches and doors were picked up first thing in the morning and then returned looking as good as new late that afternoon the same day. I'll be recommending the Ridgeway forge whenever friends need metalwork fabricated or repaired.
