I stayed for one night in the middle of October myself, prior to running in a race elsewhere in Cumbria and I received a warm welcome upon arrival.||I was shown to my room, which is one of three rooms next door to the pub. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, perfect for an overnight stay and I have to say that bed was one of the most comfortable I`ve ever slept on anywhere.||I had an evening meal ( fish and chips ) from the small menu, which was really good and cracking value for money at a tenner. I had one of the local real ales, which was sublime and if I hadn`t been running the following day, I`d have certainly had a few more !||I`ve a read a few reviews on here, where people are criticising the pub / rooms for not being up to scratch.||What I would say is this, the Jolly Anglers is a proper community village pub, in a non touristy area of Cumbria, so it hasn`t had a brewery rip out and turned into a pub, that is really a restaurant. It`s still proper pub and despite the rooms being " basic ", they`re incredible value for money. I`ve stayed in similar rooms in the tourist areas of Cumbria and paid twice the money for a similar room.||In these days, where pubs are shutting at an alarming rate, it warms my heart that pubs like the Jolly Anglers are still open and thriving.

We stayed here whilst walking the Dalesway. Our room was on the ground floor which was perfect as no stairs to climb after a hard days walking! Room very spacious and clean and very hot shower. Even a foot spa and Kendall mint cake to revive us. Our breakfast was huge and included in the price. Evening meal also very good value. Staff were all really welcoming. Overall exceptional value for money and would highly recommend,

Warmest welcome I’ve ever experienced in a pub. So friendly and helpful, both bar staff and Pete the landlord. Room was clean, cosy and spacious in a lovely quiet setting. Delicious and hearty evening meal and breakfast. Definitely recommend for those walking the Dales way.

Stayed here whilst doing The Dales Way. Better choice than Staveley as the last 2 days walking miles were split more evenly. Decent rooms attached to a pub. Room had a foot spa, brilliant. Pub food was spot at a great price, as was the beer.

Anyone walking the Dales Way would be well advised to disregard all the negative reviews. The Jolly Anglers has everything the weary walker could need or want. For a start it's right on the route and it offers a friendly welcome, great food (and plenty of it - the cooked breakfast in particular was excellent), and spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. We appreciated the thoughtful touches of a foot spa in the bathroom, and Kendal mint cake for the onward journey. Unbelievably good value for money, and highly recommended.

Everyone one is so friendly, the rooms were clean and basic but exactly what we needed! The food is great and they're dog friendly too which is a bonus. Great value for money and I would definitely stay here again!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Beds were comfortable, room was clean. Shower could be better. Limited choice of supper but we had lasagne and it was ok. Breakfast was one of the best we had while walking the Dales Way even better than the hotel we stayed in at Ilkley.
