Got to be suspicious of a company that doesn't take the time to respond to negative reviews! As others have said don't touch with a bargepole. Their customer service is appalling. I am certain they have been told to use one sentence since no matter what I said to the operative I got the same reply. 4 weeks since our heating system went in and still no hot water. Called today passed to the engineer on site to speak to. At the end of call I said well Yeah they don't know either. Then I was told its normal to have a bath run a third of like warm water then run cold. Contacting the grant company to ensure they are aware of substandard products being used in install

Do not use this company, when the product goes wrong you are left in limbo for months. my cylinder started leaking in November 2022 after being fitted 3 years ago. I paid a £300 deposit for a new one to be delivered, this took weeks as it wasn’t in stock even though when I paid the deposit it was in stock. 2 weeks after the faulty cylinder was collected I enquired about getting my deposit back only to be told it will be another 4-6 weeks until the faulty cylinder is tested and if found faulty I will then get my deposit back! The cylinder leaked through a newly renovated ceiling, I’ve had to pay the plumber a days money to fit the new cylinder, now I’m waiting months to get my deposit back. After numerous emails to joule I’ve been told the managing director is dealing with this? This was 2-3 weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything from anyone since?

I was looking forward to getting a new domestic Joule solar-thermal Acapella tube system. After getting a quote a month ago, I have only just discovered that they no longer supply the Acapella tube system. If you google it there are numerous hits for this system still on the internet. Not helpful. Lack of adequate communication from the company does not install confidence in their products.

My company have fitted 80 of the pre plumbed ThermaQ cylinders past couple of years. Easy to install and only a handful of minor call-outs to date, which have been easy to organise a service call . Customer service are helpful and any other queries my rep has answered my emails within a few hours.

INSTALLERS may be interested to read about our terrible experience with JOULE UK. We are a small plumbing company. One of our customers paid a local builders merchant for a Joule UK manufactured ThermaQ 1200x450 indirect copper cylinder. We duly installed it for him. Within approximately 3 weeks of install he noticed a small weep to the side of the cold feed inlet flange where it had been brazed onto the cylinder body. He contacted us and we visited to inspect it. It was indeed leaking from the cylinder itself in the area that the customer had described, albeit a small leak. Joule UK have their own service engineers but choose not to send them out to issues under warranty with copper cylinders, for what reasons, they have not made clear. Feeling a duty of care to carry out the replacement cylinder work for the customer as he still had water leaking on to his floor, we emailed Joule UK with our terms for payment including the associated labour costs, in advance. They replied by return agreeing to pay the said amount and provided a PO number for the invoice - no information was given around any terms or conditions they may have for us carrying out this work. Bear in mind, prior to this Joule had been given all the customer and cylinder details along with a series of photographs taken by the customer clearly showing the leak and the installation. After carrying out the work and submitting the invoice we did not receive the agreed payment so began to chase them. Their accounts payable had no knowledge of our invoice. It was only when we asked to escalate it to a manager, that the Customer Support Manager told us that without exception, they must have the cylinder back and test it first (by themselves note, not an independent tester). Although we complained about this, including directly to the Managing Director, they stuck to their company line. Now we can see why. It took much chasing just to get them to collect the faulty cylinder from the builders merchant (3 weeks). Once back with their testing department they claim they carried out "various" tests (2 to be precise). After nearly 5 weeks and a ridiculous amount of emails, they declared no fault/leak found and refused to settle our invoice. We were in the process of starting legal proceedings to recover the money along with costs when they decided to retest and finally confirmed the leak. They are now going to pay for our labour costs.

Supplied an Air Source Heat Pump via Heatpump Warehouse. After several hours of fault finding, it transpired that internally a plug connecting the fan to the circuit board had not been connected. At weekend so no telephone lines open so rather than leave no central heating all weekend, fixed the problem myself.
On contacting for compensation, had a very aggressive phone call suggesting I might have removed the plug myself, no apology and no thanks for saving them an engineers visit. Will never use again.

I purchased a 500L unvented cylinder 4 years ago, it was good value money and excellent performance but the brand is let down by poor support. The bladder in the expansion vessel split recently and I called to find out how to get a replacement. I was fobbed off and told to call a local plumbers merchant, the person at Joule I spoke too couldn't provide me any specification on the faulty unit to help me find the right part. I ended up buying a brand new complete replacement vessel from else where to save me the hassle of trying to find a compatible bladder.

Joule designed and commissioned the air source heating system which I’ve had installed in my new house & I couldn’t be happier. Their technical team and field engineer were so knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend to others.
