We're not allowed to talk: it's silence all the time, we have to be silent in greeting (which I get), silent entering greeting, silent leaving greeting, silent entering class, silent leaving class, silent when walking to the fire drill space, silent leaving the fire drill space. It's crazy, the only times we can talk are at break times, in-between lessons and in those Turn and Talks. We can't even debate with teachers, "Named Reminder" "Why? I didn't do anything" "That's talking back, off to triage". We learn how to speak for the first 10 years of our lives, then are pressurised into not speaking. Speech is freedom.

They don't understand punishments: you get a nudge, sometimes, if the teacher's good (I understand that), and after a nudge or more often straight away a named reminder, in most instances unless your teacher is good and you don't know why you got one, you can't ask or debate about it, as that's "talking back". Then you've got triage, I have to be blunt, for the most part, it doesn't work. Trouble makers go to triage and they often don't see it as a punishment, while on the other side, new students (mostly year 7's) get sent mostly for reasons they don't know (and can't ask as TAIL is stupid), so they don't see Triage as a punishment, more like a message to be really careful and to not step out of line.

They don't want you to be yourself: They don't let you dress how you want, for boys it's black trousers, white t-shirt and a navy blue jumper, while for girls it's navy blue jumper, white t-shirt, leggings, skirt (can't be above fingertips). Accessories are, 1 stud earrings, no necklaces, no excessive jewellery, no unnatural hair dye, no EYEBROW SLITS (How petty can you be?), no other piercings, no painted nails. They don't let kids express and find themselves.

If any Launceston College staff sees this and finds this offensive and sends me, just know that I'm expressing my opinion and using my right to freedom of speech. If you try to silence or delete this, then school is actually more right wing then I thought.

Unless your child is very academically inclined this is the worst school I have come across after having 5 children all of whom have been well behaved in school mostly out of school but all kids have their days ! my youngest spent year 7 in this school it's stripped all of his confidence and gave him a speech impediment ! After changing to a different school he went back to his old self full of confidence and eager to learn, But on the upside one of my elder daughter's who was very academic done really well at this school she also did devizes to Westminster with the school and all though she passed all of her GCSE and went on to university the school left her a nervous wreck, she still sees a counsellor today 10 years later.

This is horrible it ruined my mental health severely to the point I can’t even get out of bed, brush my teeth or wipe off my makeup I know this sounds unhealthy and lazy but genuinely before I came to this school I was never like this. As soon as I got on half term break I started to get slightly better, slowly but I was definitely better and now I’m in a HORRIBLE state again. Please don’t send your kids to this school, its absolutely ridiculous.

This school is something else,it’s horrible and too strict. Don’t send your kids to Launceston college it will ruin their mental health for all I know I might’ve gotten some sort of trauma from that school. I get nervous every time someone mentions a collar and I check if mine is out, even if I’m NOT wearing a shirt with collar, they really only care about ur uniform and how ur presented rather then your learning, yes they do their job and teach however they don’t think about visual learner or those with adhd or autism and any other sorts of things, you even can get sent to reflection for touching your equipment such as pens or pencils. Absolute nightmare to be in this school,I hope the others are okay.

majority of the teachers only care about how ur uniform looks, if u don't answer a question you immediately get told off for 'not trying hard enough' or things such as 'you should have been paying attention'. i won't deny this, im a very shy person and struggle to speak to people, the teachers do not understand this and constantly try to tell me off, they never actually do smth to help me. in year 7 and 8 i constantly came home crying bc of bullying. again, the teachers did nothing. the rules r also stupid cz wdym u cant go to the toilet during lesson times. you could literally be pissing ur pants and they still wouldn't let u go, if u actually really needed to go u would have to go 'support'/triage after. you get told off for stupid reasons, the teachers dont care, the rules are strict. come to this school if u purposely wanna get mentally and verbally abused.

I cannot explain how bad of a experience I had here.. I wish I had moved, but I stayed because I was in fear of leaving my friends and just starting a school that’s not in my town. This school has HORRENDOUSLY ruined me physically and mentally and I 100% recommend DO NOT send any kid here, these been some of the worst years of my life here right now as I’m writing this we haven’t had school and I am slowly improved,I have more energy to shower and take care of myself, during the school week I normally am too exhausted to do that and spend all my time sleeping or in bed which leads to me having late homework bc I have no motivation, they’re going to add after school detention for those who didn’t do their homework. You’ll be seeing me there a lot launceston college won’t you? I hope you enjoyed ruining my life throughout the years I’ve been here. Thanks so much 😊!

I don’t get these reviews but they are for years 7-11 which doesn’t apply to us. The 6th Form (which is separate) seems really good so far. It’s small so you are lucky as you get small classes.

Very bad school, destroyed my mental health, the teachers are super rude and don't care about your mental health, my two brothers dropped out because of how mean the school was to them.
