Having changed my vehicle before the weekend and realising I massively measured incorrectly, I found myself in search of a new travel crate for my new car.

Having previously used another company with my last crate, I reached out to them to see what they suggested for my new VW ID.4. The company told me they hadn’t tried anything in the VW ID range and “ looking at images on Google it’s unlikely that we have anything our range that is suitable and we don’t offer a bespoke service, I’m really sorry.” Which is fair enough. However still left me in a predicament.

I got fed up of trawling through second hand crates on marketplace and eBay etc. My partner suggested we make the trip out to Lintran as they are fairly local to us. I called them at 9am and had an appointment at 12 booked. We arrived and were asked to pull the car round to one of the bays so they could measure and see what off the shelf boxes they could fit. We chatted about what I required from a box. Single, double, galvanised or not. Whether I wanted off the shelf or custom. They brought out drawings from previously fit crates that other ID.4 owners had ordered. Really took their time to help me choose.

In an ideal world I would have gone custom so I could fill the space in the boot. Time was not on my side so we settled on a DB6; which fit perfectly. They lifted the crate into the boot and found more headroom than previously thought so we swapped for one with an extended roof. I wasn’t keen on the gap between the divider and the mesh roof and it was no problem at all for them to bridge this gap with another piece cut to measure.

All in all we were there an hour and drove away with a crate that fits the boot of my car perfectly without obscuring my rear view window unlike my previous crate in my old car. A crate that my dogs fit in comfortably and safely and way more ventilation than before. I’m also happy with the fact my nervous traveller can lick the cage walls without paint peeling off unlike my previous crate.

Just received our made to measure box from Lintran. Perfect service from start to finish. We chose to make the journey to their premises so that the measuring was accurate. We received it today and it slotted straight in, happy dogs, happy owners, happy travels.

Fantastic service, from start to finish.
Initially I was provided with options for a suitable double dog box, to fit my 2022 Octavia Estate IV, deciding to go with the DB2006.
The office staff were fantastic. Placing the order was easy, receiving a call on the day it was going to be dispatched.
The box was received by 8:30am the following day. It was well packaged and perfect.
The box fits like a glove. Absolutely perfect.
This is my second box from Lintran and I would not go anywhere else.
