I purchased some galvanised kick plate clamps from Lockinex to suit a 6mm thick kick plate. Normally they come from other suppliers with a slot just under 7mm wide, not from Lockinex! The brackets supplied had a 5.4mm wide slot. I contacted Lockinex to find out what went wrong and expected them to say they were just a bad batch but they said that they could only guarantee that they will fit their 6mm thick flat purchased from them! I am not sure how that would ever work unless their 6mm thick flat is not actually 6mm thick
They told me that I could return them but will have to pay a 25% restocking fee! They also tried some at their depot and said that they had managed to hammer them on so they were ok! I have been in the industry for over 15 years and have never required a hammer to install a kick plate bracket. I also felt I should not have to explain to a company that supplys mainly galvanised products about the effect of hammering parts together thus removing the galvanised finish.
Jade on sales was no help at all and could not see any problem with the parts supplied! We as a company will never use Lockinex again.

UPDATE - 04/09/2019

A new member to our company unbeknown tried to set up an account with Lockinex today. Fortunately they were refused and then our previous experience was explained. I would like to state that at no time was any member of Lockinex verbally abused by Berry & Escott but we could not understand how they could fail to see how a 6mm thick plate could not fit into their supplied 6mm kick plate brackets with a 5.2mm slot in? As per the photo's posted. All we ever wanted was to return items purchased that was not fit for purpose as per our standard UK consumer rights. Lockinex felt we had no rights to return as the items could be hammered onto the 6mm flat. Not a standard practice we use! We have had no response from our original bad review until today and still have the brackets and now also false accusations. Since this issue we have purchased many 6mm kick plate brackets from other suppliers such as FH Brundle and they fit over as expected.

Following a change to the handrail requirements during a Friday morning meeting on site, I contacted the guys at Lockinex with my wish list around mid-morning, and within a very short period came back to me confirming that the materials where in stock, where being picked, packed and would be on site Monday. Great service, really appreciated!

What a shower, i bought a pallet gate kit to install for a customer.
No legible instructions for fitting, nothing on you tube having been told there was (only a swing gate). Their own picking list was incorrect, the steel tubes had to be cut to fit. I ended up short on material and had to return at my cost to finish the install.
The Director's response was as follows; We do not cover for any losses as per our terms and conditions.
Basically we do not care!!!!!!!
