Their interior redecoration, including making good water damage, was impeccable. They've also installed a new front door, built a side gate, and laid a gravel path, all to a high standard. They are good at setting a date and sticking to it as well as possible allowing for unforeseeable factors. They are also friendly and courteous and clean up very carefully after a job.

I was introduced to Michal of Luxury House Oxford by a John Lynch who is widely regarded as one of the best quality builders in Oxfordshire.

I am a self-builder who was undertaking a substantial house build but being from an aviation engineering background I am extremely fussy and particular and so I asked John if he could recommend an exceptional painter and decorator as the finish to my house was going to be critical. Without hesitation John recommended Michal of Lux House Oxford to me and he informed me that Michal was extremely hardworking, honest and genuinely cared about the work that he did.

I arranged a meeting with Michal (who is Polish which I liked because they have a fantastic work ethic). I went through in detail with Michal what I required and I asked him to provide me with a quotation. However, Michal pointed out to me certain things which I hadn’t remotely even thought of and he informed me that if this work was not done then it would dramatically adversely affect the quality of his finished product and this finish would not be up to his or my standard and with this being the case he said he would prefer not to quote. I was shocked my Michal’s response but it was quite obvious to me that I had a guy in front of me that passionately cared about his work and was prepared to lose a substantial amount of work because he is obviously extremely proud of the work he does.

I agreed with Michal’s input and asked him to quote me on the basis that he would do the work to his standard and include the items that had not even crossed my mind. Michal provided me with a full quotation within 72 hours clearly stating in quite some detail exactly what he was going to do, how he was going to do it and the time scale for him to complete this work. With regard to Michal’s quote I had previously received four other quotes for the work and Michael’s quote was not the most expensive nor was it the cheapest. However, Michal’s quote was for work that no other contractor either mentioned or spoke about so what I decided to do was to ask Michal to quote for a section of the house and let him do that section which would give me an opportunity to assess for myself his standard as I am naturally a cautious person.

Michal completed the section that I authorised him to do. Michal quoted 3 weeks to complete this work upon instructions but in reality he managed to complete this work in just under 2 weeks although to be fair this did consist of working Saturdays and Sundays. The standard of the finish was quite literally mind blowing. I showed this work to a few building friends of mine together with a friend of mine that runs a big Estate Agency company and they all agreed that it was exceptional and certainly not the normal standard of work that they are used to seeing. Therefore, I proceeded to authorise Michal to carry on with the remainder of the house.

Michal completed this work as per his quotation both in time and in price and the standard that this work was done to is exceptional and we couldn’t be happier. To be fair I know I must have driven Michal mad sometimes as I did alter the spec as he came up with new brilliant ideas but nothing was too much trouble. I think the simplest way to describe Michal and his attitude is to say “Yes is the answer now what is the question”.

I have recommended Michal and his team to over half a dozen of my friends who have substantial quality properties. Without exception all of them have been extremely happy with Michal’s services and they have all commented that his standard of work is exceptional. Of course the downside of being so good is that everyone begins to hear about you and you get very busy.

I very rarely do reviews however as his work was exceptional I felt I needed to make an exception in his case. Therefore, I would not hesitate in recommending Michal and his team for any future painting/decorating/wallpapering/coving work.
