The Lovely Lymm village.. Take a walk round Lymm Dam,, there is a decent sized car park and whilst there are couple different ways to go round it. .. The scenery is stunning, loads of wildlife .

When you have finished walk across the zebra crossing down the steps to Lymm Village.. You will find pubs, charity shops and the very well known bakery Sextons.

Well worth a visit if you've never been before.

Lymm dam is such a lovely place for a long Sunday walk, it’s a circular route and we did a couple of loops. Even though it was extremely heavy rain and a bit windy it was still a great place. The paths/walkways are clear and really easy to follow too. I noticed a couple of signs around the route which were really informative.

Lymm Dam is the name of a dam and lake in Lymm, Cheshire, England, an inset village in the greenbelt around Warrington. It was created in 1824 by a dam built during the construction of what is now the A56 road, when local inhabitants objected to initial plans for a route through the village centre. It may have been used to supply power to local industry, and the surrounding area.

Warrington Borough Council began managing the Lymm Dam and its park in the early 1980s. At that time there were considerable erosion problems and the Ranger Service began to upgrade the existing path network and take over the park maintenance. It is now a popular visitor attraction, which has won several Green Flag Awards for its improvements to the infrastructure and ecology of the dam.

A pleasant area to visit with some nice walks in the vicinity. Fishing in the dam is allowed with a fishing permit. Lymm village is, also, a very pleasant village to visit with many amenities, shops and pubs.

Really nice place for a walk.. easy enough to walk around the lake and enjoy the lake view. Ppl can be seen fishing on there and overall it's fairly peaceful. Benches and tables at regular places so you can stop and enjoy a flask of coffee.

Some of the fences are a bit brittle now so don't rest on em lol.

Car parking is a bit scarce... if you didn't park on the "front" (there's a silver airstream style coffee shack on wheels parked there usually I'm told).. then there's some streets nearby to drop your car. And later we found out there is a larger car park on the other side so definitely have a nose around on Google maps.

Will go again to visit the church more - it's nice 👍

There is near by parkings available. You can go near to water through the side steps.
You can go for quite a long walk along the sides of the dam.

Enjoy the calm water and long walk on sides through the trees. Relaxing and enjoying the peaceful nature

A great place to be out with your family and dogs, nice easy walks and some amazing views! Only 5 minutes walking from the village centre, which is another great place to visit. The walking path around the reservoir can be a bit dirty after the rain, otherwise a very nice place to go.
There's a parking behind the church, which can be full, you can leave the car in the village parking with plenty of spaces all the time

Lymm dam is lovely all year round whether walking, jogging or cycling. There are a couple of parking g space dotted about the edges, with the biggest being near to the rugby club which has about 15 spaces. But if you’re coming from the motorway it’s probably easier to use the car park at the back which you access from a side road near to Lymm services, it’s always empty there so no need to worry about parking.

The church green pub is near the church, both are worth a visit. And there’s a small coffee truck and ice cream van that park at the front by the road.

Dogs will love it, I keep mine on the lead at all times because they tend to run off as there are lots of other dogs there, but if yours actually return when called, they’ll be fine off the lead.

I regularly take my mountain bike around for a bit of exercise and there are a couple of tricky areas due to the steepness or how much mud is there.
