The guy who was working in there was a great ambassador for the place. Really passionate and knowledgeable about Exmoor and really helpful and friendly as well.
He put on a film for us all about Exmoor and it really highlights what a stunning place it really is. In summary, a great visitor centre full of useful books and guides and run by great friendly staff who are passionate about Exmoor.

Right on the Harbour front at Lynmouth is this amazing place.
The National Park Center is full of information about the local area and the Exmoor National park. I visited here because I was welcoming a walker, (Becky) who was completing the Two Moors Walk. 160K of hills, wild camping and beautiful scenery. The center holds a book that records the names and dates of all the walkers who have passed that way. The Walker statue is right across the Esplanade and is a landmark statue that sits at the end of many walks.
The staff were great and really got involved with the event and welcomed and congratulated Becky on her walk.
There is also a cafe upstairs which is awesome so be sure to stop for refreshments too.

My wife, daughter and I visited here in 2023 and had a very warm welcome. We were offered the opportunity to watch several interesting and atmospheric films about Exmoor by a friendly staff member, and left a donation as a result. We were therefore really looking forward to coming back here today, a year later.

What a difference from last year on today's visit. We were totally ignored by the member of staff whose job it was to put the films on. She appeared far too engrossed in her conversation with a local man to bother with us. We went and stood in the film theatre, quite obviously waiting to see the films, but still got ignored. When a couple of other people walked into the theatre, the member of staff immediately jumped to it, stopping her conversation to ask them if they'd like to see a film, and which one they would like to see. We were left wondering exactly what it was we had done to be so seemingly invisible. When the other couple left the theatre, we stayed in the hope of seeing another of the films, but again, while they were asked if they would like to see another, we were ignored despite remaining in our seats very obviously waiting. Throughout the one film we did manage to see, the staff member and her companion kept their loud conversation going right outside the door to the theatre, which made hearing the audio difficult.

We were frankly quite taken aback at the fact that the staff member seemed prepared to interrupt her conversation for other people, but not for us. We had not said a word to anyone in building since coming in, so this cannot have been a case of our having offended the staff member and being treated differently as a result. We left quickly without making another donation, and are unlikely to return.
