Myself and 6 girlfriends just had a excellent stay in a Lynton hotel recommended by the tourist board. I had almost given up hope of finding 4 twin rooms in half term and the tourist office recommended an absolute gem. Thanks again.

I am extremely upset and will be complaining about a Male member of staff at Lynton Tourist Information Centre, Town Hall Lee Road, Lynton Devon EX35 6BT. When visiting this establishment on Monday 25th August at 3.30pm. I was happily browsing through some of the leaflets when a lady walk in and asked the man she was desperate for accommodation in the area that took dogs. I happened to say to the lady that there were vacancies where we were staying and the lady thanked me. The lady went outside to find her husband and said she would be returning. And it was when I was alone with the male member of staff in the Tourist Information Centre he said, I am the Tourist Guide not you, I work here, it is my job to help her not yours in a very stern voice. I said I didn't mean to cause any offence and apologised and said I was trying to help as being a bank holiday vacancies was hard to find. The man totally ignored me and carried on working on his computer. I said excuse me did you hear me apologise, he still ignored me, so I left. I would have thought that the tourist information centre would have only been too pleased to know of vacancies in the area. If this man had said politely would you mind me helping this lady I wouldn't have minded, This man should not work for the tourist information centre he sets a very bad example for all those lovely members of staff from other tourist information centres.
