Just been to the new children’s a&e with our 14month old. Everyone from the reception staff, to the nurses, to the doctors were absolutely fantastic. The waiting area for the children was great too. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thankyou!

Why five stars? Well the NHS service is luck of the draw, if it is not busy, it is very good. You have to be ready to wait if you are not a referral. The Five Stars are for service and care. The A&E staff were fantastic, they were calm, caring and kept us up to date every step of the way. The ward that was needed was full, so was moved to a general ward until a bed was available. The staff again were charming and match those in A&E.

The hospital itself is on two floors, clean & it is a fairly modern building. There is no private entertainment supplied, but free WiFi if you need it. There is a general store for snacks, books, magazines, gifts & drinks. A small cafe & an ATM. They have a free to call Taxi service & it is about £5 to the Train Station. It is also serviced by a bus route. There are grounds to relax in if you are visiting.

Macmillan have a suite here if you are dealing with cancer & lots of volunteers here do a marvellous job making a tough time easier. So yes there were long waits due to it being busy, but the care, skill and charm of the staff are second to none

Good hospital but needs more parking. After driving for 20 mins and being unable to get a space, I had to park next to another bay outside of the lines or miss an appointment. I then received a £70 fine, but really had no other option.

Staff are obnoxious and rude. Partner has been in multiple times for endo tests and a laparoscopy, staff said she was lying about the pain and symptoms, kept fobbing her off with antibiotics first for over 2 years saying its a water infection, which it wasn't clearly. Then go for the laparoscopy and before hand told she would have anything found removed during the op. They find something but don't remove it and hint that another 6 month wait would then be needed to remove this. To remove something which they should have removed there and then. There is a lot more over the course of the last 2-3 years I could say but there isn't enough time and space to write it all. There's a reason this is one of the worst rated hospitals in the UK. Avoid at all costs.

I had to attend A&E this week. The waiting times were nowhere near as long as I had expected and the staff who dealt with me were so helpful and supportive despite the fact that it is obviously a very busy time for the NHS. Very thorough and nothing was too much trouble.

Very worrying that they try to discharge elderley patients who are not well (which they have admitted) just because they want to free up a bed. They are there for a reason so best to treat them and get them well first before kicking them out!

Sat for over eight hours in waiting room in A+E, two of those on a drip,Eventually moved to recliners which don't stay reclined and slept there ,No Beds, total over twenty six hours before moved to a bed in Resus,Not even offered a cup of tea until Resus..Moved three times in total and on discharge was expected to vacate my bed at 5.30am and sit in a chair in middle of ward till meds were ready, they took over five hours! Back to the first point, I am Diabetic and was told there was a vending machine available on But most if not all are Sugar free,No use when your going low and no use asking staff who just say they will get back to you but never do.Very Traumatic experience,And don't bother to ask for painkillers as all you get offered is Paracetamol unless a non existent Dr writes up something stronger!

To much bad news re hospitals by the media, I went today and the staff were amazing and I was in and out in 20 minutes. Let’s start supporting the hospitals and people that work in there and stop this madness of the media scare mongers!
