Long story but I visited this market a few days ago, partly in an effort to kill some time before my grandmas funeral. I was with my mother and she told me that she used to shop lift here as a teenager. I didn’t shop lift (and I would recommend you shoplift from independent businesses like these!) but I did manage to find a Sparks record to add to the collection!

The market was all on one level and step-free so mostly wheelchair accessible.

Popped into the market and found a gem. If you’re looking to grab some lunch try Stacey’s Deli. Amazing service, loads of choice and seriously great value. The girls are great fun too and I even bagged a selfie with Stacey! Highly recommended.

Full of fantastic local businesses, everything from pet supplies, mobile phone repairs to fruit and veg and food stalls with a friendly atmosphere, everyone with a stall in the market works very hard and is part of a the close network of businesses to serve the community.

Please support this local market, there is not enough presence for these businesses as they are somewhat tucked away in the precinct.

Go take a look around, try one of Fatimas amazing Chicken Shwarmas, get a pile of fruit and veg from Philip at the veg stall at a bargain price, a bacon butty from staceys, A nice steak from Royles.

Too many stalls to mention, but all genuine, selling good quality products, fantastic services at decent prices.

This poor market is so run down, it’s sad to see the extreme deterioration of Macclesfield and it’s shops all closing, the shop doorways are filled with homeless junkies.

The odd stall in the indoor market are fine such as Riz Electrics and the bag stall but as soon as you walk in and the newsagents is the first stall and are greeted by 2 of the most miserable and rude people I have ever met in my entire life. They own the stall and I can’t emphasise just how horrible they are!!! It’s a shame as they deter people from going into the rest of the stalls!!
