I used the auction house Whittaker & Bigg and to my disappointment they have no in house packing service, so I used their represented mail company MBE. They have to be one of the worst I have ever come across. 20 days taken from winning & paying for the items, arranging shipping and them arriving. No communication, no idea when my items would be collected or even if they had or when they would arrive. I had to chase them, but was ignored on most occasions.
I had paid for the faster more expensive package as i wanted my items quickly and was disgusted in what I saw when my item actually arrived.
My silver items had been what I can only describe as "thrown" into a plastic bag together and had a bit of brown paper to safeguard the items in the box.

Appalling communication from both parties and appalling packing service.

Two companies I will now avoid.

One of the best experiences I have had in a long time with an independent shipping service, or any service for that matter. They were very quick to respond, and extremely helpful. Their packing of a rare photo bought at auction was in a word: "superb." I demand and expect the best and in this instance, and to my surprise, Mail Boxes Etc. Altrincham exceeded my expectations! They picked up at the auction house, packed and shipped from the UK to me in the USA. I would highly recommend them and would happily use them again.

Used Mailboxes, Altrincham for the first time. Highly recommended. They were very professional, helpful and packed the item carefully and thoroughly to avoid and possibility of damage in transit. Was able to ring them to give payment details and my item was collected, packed and shipped in three days, arriving by tracked Parcelforce service. Very good value for money as transit insurance was included in my personal home insurance, so no need to pay additional insurance on this occasion. 5 star service. Rang the office after delivery to personally thank them.

I bought a large;heavy;extremely fragile ceramic statue at an auction house several hundred miles away from where I live.
One of the carriers recommended by the auction house is Mailboxes in Altrincham.
I rang the company and spoke at different times to Palani and Laxan who were very helpful and professional.
They picked up the sculpture from the auction house, packed it with enormous care and sent it special 24 hour delivery to avoid too much time in carriage limiting handling to avoid damage.
My sculpture arrived in one piece .

The packing was inspired with the piece held suspended in one box then placed inside another box.
‘ Where to cut ‘ ,lines had been drawn on the packing to avoid damage with scissors or knife. An email had already arrived warning me to be very careful how I opened the box.

This detailed review is because I was so impressed by the ingenuity of the packing and care by the company.
I would definitely use this company again.

After discovering mailboxes In Altrincham some years ago for all my International and national business parcels, I would never go back to using any other mail delivery company, they give you a personal service and have never let me down, they are quick to respond, nothing is ever too much trouble.
I can’t recommend them enough.

Efficient, my parcel was very well wrapped and safe therefore delivered undamaged unlike other items I have had shipped with other carriers. Very easy to deal with - highly recommended.
