We were so excited to select the Hoxton range for our new bathroom after visiting the Marlow showroom. We dealt with Sophie, who was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. We went for the rectangular tile in pink for the splash back and shower enclosure, and noted the unrefined edges and variance in colour. They came out just as we’d hoped and we really like them (which is why I gave this a two, not one, star review).
It was a completely different story with the Hoxton hexagon tile however, which we had selected for the floor. We had checked the boxes in the delivery to ensure no breakages etc, but obviously did not look at every single tile. As we are living out of our house while a full renovation is underway, we weren’t there when the tiler got on with it.
When we visited the site two days later we were absolutely horrified to see that many of the tiles looked filthy and had black edging around them. This was the tile; the unrefined edge shows black in some places, but crucially not on all of the tiles. They certainly had not been like that in the showroom. I have photos to prove that. Neither are they like this on the website.
We rang the showroom and sent photos, but the response was really lacklustre… just a case of, “well you’ve laid them now”. I then visited the Cheltenham showroom. There was more sympathy there and they asked me to email my photos across. But then I had a response saying they thought they were just dirty and sent a sample of some cleaner. The tiles were not dirty, they were black at the edges.
In the end, we paid the builder to dig out the very worst marked of the tiles and ordered more hexagon tiles to find ones that were less marked to replace the others.

We were visiting friends and walked through this area of Marlow, thought we’d pop in to get some ideas for our home in East Sussex as no real tile shops there to speak of.
We were greeted by the Manageress, she was wonderful, polite, knowledgable and a delight to deal with, explained that delivery could be made to our address although miles away, which was reassuring. Excellent all round customer service, we would recommend this shop to others, well worth a visit.

Amazing Service in the Marlow showroom, I was so disillusioned looking at countless tiles online and decided to go for quality and more importantly to go and see in the tiles for myself in real time. I went in and had such great service in store from Jonathan Astle who was incredibly knowledgable and offered super helpful advice and we aim to collect our tiles from Monmouth this week and I hope the tiles live up to my expectations, its always a bit of an anxious wait to see if your vision, once up, is what you had hoped.

We wanted a neutral warm marble look for our holiday let in The Cotswolds shower room and opted for the CLASSIC PALOMA IVORY GLOSS 600 X 300.

Fingers Crossed collection goes well and no dramas, will follow with a photo hopefully once up....

I popped into Mandarin Stone in Marlow, to have a look at tiles for my new family home. I was greeted by Ayushi, who was very friendly and professional. We had a long chat, and she really listened to what I required, and then spent some time with me to find what I was looking for. Ayushi was very knowledgable and had offered a great service. The shop looked lovely and other staff were very friendly. Thank you to Ayushi for your fab help!

Entered shop- four staff, no other customers. Looking for small order of very expensive Italian porcelain floor tiles (repair job on existing floor). Not existing customer so they literally couldn’t care less. Very dismissive. Not interested in any future business, I guess… which surprised me.

My follow-up to the store comment on my review above: The team in the store did not provide any advice or guidance at all. They simply said they had not heard of the supplier (Unicom Starker). When I showed them the supplier’s website they just looked at me. I said I’d call the manufacturer myself. They said “yes”. That was the sum of their interest. It’s revealing they told you they had done what I was expecting a specialist, high-end retailer to do… but didn’t do.

All the staff are super-helpful and knowledgable, the stone is all incredibly good (and I have had some in my house for years and it looks good as new) and their customer service is superb. I also think their pricing is very fair. I would heartily recommend.

Have had a very good experience from the staff at Marlow. Both Amy and Ellie have been very helpful (and patient!). They provide helpful advice and the store has an excellent range on display. Highly recommended.
