Very Happy with the service and advice. I've had a few welders from Gary and his team over the years. From the shop to the new unit..

Went here to buy a welder, talked with Gary about what I wanted. He took the time to go through all the available options available, offered advice about which type of machines were better for what I wanted, before selling me a suitable unit.
He carries a decent stock level of machines , but the one I wanted wasn't in stock at the time, but was available 2 days later. If you are stuck you'll be able to get something that meets your needs, but in my case I didn't want the extra expense of the 'next level' welder (he was awaiting some mid level welders, but had hobby and garage level machines available)

I have been using MIG, TIG, ARC (MTA) for around 11 years now and they have always been very helpful, extremely knowledgeable and priced well.
I did initially use more local companies but never found the service to be as good as MTA. When i was starting out and working all the hours, Gary has even gone out of his way to deliver me gas over a Christmas period to allow me to finish a job.
I'm using 8 of their MIG welders, a plasma cutter and a TIG machine, all purchased on Gary's advice and all have been superb, in fact, i was even advised not to waste money on a more expensive machine that wouldn't have suited my needs - a good honest company!

So Gary talks the talk and persuaded me to part with £3200 for a welder. Had no experience with tig and he said we can always answer you questions. I said it was to go in my mobile workshop and would be powered by a 6.5kva generator. Read on Oxford Welders site for my machine that the minimum required was a 6.5kva generator. So anyway after testing I found it would not work. Then I found other people were recommending 10kva for that welder saying 6.5kva was wrong. So returned to migtigarc asking for a refund. Gary was a different bloke suddenly. Being ridiculing and obnoxious. Asking why I would have bought that machine and not checked it out further. I bought the machine because he recommended it. I can’t believe the gaul and the temerity of this guy. He’s refusing the refund, and now I am going to be taking him to court.

My advise is don’t believe the other reviews. He said I called him a lot. For one he said I could ask questions and for sure there would be as I had no experience, but also as I did not know it was the power causing the issues at first, I was calling because the welder was not performing. His technical abilities are rubbish. He did not know the answer and neither did Oxford Welders. I as an auto electrician took the time out to study the fault in greater depth and it was myself who figured out the power was the issue.

This firm is one of those firms you don’t touch with a barge pole. Do not buy from them because they won’t refund if the money is a lot. Go to welding supplies direct and ask for Tom. Much bigger firm and they back up their sales.
