We received our prototype boards from ALR, which were manufactured by Minnitron

Upon arrival, the boards were sealed in plastic. What immediately stood out was the amount of dirt sealed inside with them. The routed slots were blocked with dirt, like wall tile grout. When we opened the sealed plastic, dirt poured out on to the work bench.

After wasting a lot of time unblocking the slots, we started assembling two prototypes to demonstrate to our client. A quick test and both units suffered immediate failure. Unknown to us, the tracks had been welded by Minnitron, and the welds failed under load.

ALR apologised for the substandard quality, and will be investigating why Minnitron are welding the tracks.
