We had 2 balustrades fabricated and powder coated for our existing balconies. They were fab, just what we wanted. So we had them back to fabricate another one for our new decking.
It was designed in a professional manner, colour matched exactly with the others and fitted on time. Half way through the fit, I realised it was a different colour, caramel instead of chocolate. I commented and was fobbed off with it being the same colour from a different manufacturer and if I didn’t like it, I could always spray paint it myself. The finish was also poor, with air bubbles and orange peel.
As it didn’t look too horrendous ( if you ignore the balcony above) it was largely fitted and I clearly wasn’t going to get any help/discussion on the subject, I let it go.
The hand rail was on hold as the steps were in the process of being finished but when Mark brought it to fit, it was the original chocolate brown!! At this point, it needed to be caramel so was an awful mismatch and a clear demonstration that they were aware the whole balustrade was the wrong colour. Mark took it away and said he needed to speak to his business partner and that was the last I heard!! Despite several emails, I have had no response, even though I have said that there is a compromise to be had - coat the damn handrail caramel at this point!!
I am now without a hand rail or the bracket that was to fix the balustrade to the house wall - it is safe but it was to provide extra security as the top deck is 1.5m above ground level.
I thought these guys and their company were solid and decent - guess it was a costly mistake. They certainly don’t value existing customers and repeat business.

I am very dissatisfied with lack of communications and commitment with ‘New Balcony’.
The Company installed a new balcony in 2009.
During Autumn 2022 rainwater was coming into the corner of the room below.
Emergency roofers from my Insurers determined in December 2022 that the silicone sealant was failing. They replaced the sealant to one glass panel and advised me to ask the original installers to replace the sealant to all the glass panels.
‘New Balcony’ eventually came in June 2023 to inspect the situation and agreed that it would be an easy half day job for the company to do.
After I had made numerous calls to the office I finally managed to commit them to November 2023, but poor weather forced the cancellation and no new date was ever given.
Following a very wet winter and with the arrival of better weather, I phoned the office in June 2024 and was promised an appointment to re-silicone the panels within 24 hours. I am still waiting and I am finding this very stressful.
I cannot understand why ‘New Balcony’ refuse to come to re-seal the glass panels, a job promised over a year ago?
I would not recommend this company.
