Our first dinner out in Markyate, having just moved here. Charming people, great food, lovely surroundings, good value - will return!

Credit where it's due, the food was good. Not the best ever, but better than your average Indian. The cauliflower side thingy was actually very tasty. The big problem was the service. We ordered takeaway for collection, for 4 people, not a huge order. They open at 1730, we ordered at 1732. They said to arrive in around 45 minutes (already quite long I'd say.) We arrived around 1815, they said the order was nearly ready. We didn't leave with our food until 1855, over an hour and twenty minutes after we ordered. I'm sorry but that's far too slow. The restaurant was maybe 25% full at most, and there were a few collection orders (all complaining about the wait time amongst themselves!) They did keep saying it was a "soft launch", and I'd probably forgive that if they'd been honest / realistic about the wait time. But you can't take nearly 90 minutes to prepare four curries, sorry. I might give them a second chance in a few months once they get their act together

First time here and it lived up to everything that we would have wanted.
Really friendly staff that were passionate about the brand and super proud about the natural ingredients in their dishes.
Extensive menu with some great alternatives to the usual Indian restaurant menu.
The service couldn’t have been any better as they recommended certain dishes with real pride and genuine enthusiasm.
Food was super fresh and super tasty and although quite pricey, the experience felt worth it. Will definitely be back!
Would definitely recommend and feel really happy to have such a high end restaurant in our village.

We had a takeaway for collection, the restaurant called us 10 mins before it was ready, total of 40 mins wait. Staff were really friendly, the food is superb, tiger prawn railway chilli fry, tawa, chicken tikka, all a cut above.

Restaurant was very cold and made our stay uncomfortable, the food was good but not worth the cost, although the Perswari Nan was not properly cooked and lacked filling,... I couldn't find any fruit. The atmostphere of the Old Pavillion has been lost, I wouldn't go back.

The Restaurant was extremely cold making for a very unpleasant dining experience and the service was extremely slow, understaffed. Both main dishes very disappointing with chewy Prawns and tough Lamb. Sadly a very disappointing experience which we will not be repeating.

The restaurant was cold which spoilt our dining experience, the food was good but the ambience was awful, the wipe clean tables didn’t do it for me also the constant cleaning of tables with a lemon scented cleaner was overpowering, I wish them well but we won’t be returning.
