I recently popped into RJ Balson & Son while visiting Bridport and the selection was impressive, with a wide range of cuts available and great locally sourced sundries and accompaniments. The staff were also incredibly helpful and friendly, taking the time to answer my questions and make recommendations. Purchased sausages and steak here and both were delicious. I can't recommend this butcher shop enough. If you're looking for high-quality meat that's expertly sourced and prepared, look no further when in town.

Balson and Son has been a really great find. Cheerful, friendly and a real gem in Bridport. My wife and I have had a variety of meat now and are really impressed. The best sausages we have tasted for years. The calves liver is wonderful and we are pleased to have found a butcher that sells it. The bacon is beautiful and the lamb shanks are very tasty. Looking forward to popping in again soon.

This is a remarkable family butcher's shop, which has been in the same family since 1500's. This date coincides with King Charles trying to escape England for France. Fortunately the implements used and the meat storage procedures have changed, their modern day meat cuts are of an extraordinary quality.
