Installed our new gates initially, had to return to correct some poor workmanship which they did but as I hadn't fully paid the invoice I guess they would, then 12 months later, the metal work on the gates is going badly rusty due to poor material used, tried to contact them to arrange repairs, they initially responded but now are just ignoring us and am now stuck with 'rusting' £8k gates. 5 year guarantee given at time of purchase. Legal action started.

Having recently moved to our new home, it became clear that we needed to install electric gates at the entrance to our property to ensure the safety and security of our animals and the site in general.

We approached several local suppliers, however on the recommendation of the Managing Director of Moat Contracting Ltd we met with Ian of R&R Gates whom we immediately realised was offering a far superior product and service compared to the other companies we had also approached.

Speaking with Ian, it became clear we didn’t really know what our options were and the advice we had received previously was limited. Ian was (and is) tremendously patient and helpful in ensuring we got the correct gate design and functionality that truly met our requirements. We’ve learned that Ian and his team are skilled manufacturers as they were able to design and fabricate a bespoke gate for a site that is not straightforward. During the installation, other works were being undertaken at the same time so installing a large gate was more complex than usual. Changes to the specification of the installation whilst in progress were also dealt with by Ian with clarity and clear guidance.

Throughout the whole process from initial meeting to the electric gate now being installed, Ian has been a delight and pleasure to work with. Apart from his engaging demeanour, he is clearly an honest and consummate professional entirely in control of his craft and motivated to ensure he gives clients the best results possible. Generous with his time and knowledge, my family are now the proud (and safe) beneficiaries of Ian’s work. We can't recommend him enough.

Nightmare...expensive and we now have electric gates that dont work. Ian won't come back and mend them. The posts are bent, nothing fits and now a bracket has broken, so they dont work. The wood has rotted where it wasn't sealed properly. Avoid this guy at all costs.
