We had a lovely day trip to this farm with 2 primary school aged children and they loved it. Because it was half term there were extra activities on - feeding different animals, grooming, holding guinea pigs etc. It was very muddy, but we were prepared! There was a wide range of animals over a large area and all keen to be fed! There were picnic benches scattered around and a cafe where we popped in for a homemade cake before going home. I would definitely recommend a visit with children up to 11 years old.

We had the afternoon tea here today and it’s probably the best one we’ve ever had with all homemade goodies! The animals are very inquisitive (and super cute) and happily follow you along the fences while you walk.
The lady that served us was incredibly lovely too! Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing hands on with the animals very friendly staff.
We in the morning and feed and love the animals. They let you leave your car to walk into the historic town and visit the castle. We always return and do another trip round and sometimes cake and coffee in the lovely cafe. We go often and love it everytime. Nice cheap full day out

We came yesterday to visit your lovely farm with my little boy. The animals were so well cared for (we especially loved the super cute cows!) and the owner was so accommodating, helpful and kind. We had a lovely little lunch in Daphne’s Tea Room and even got guinea pig snuggles afterwards. Gorgeous little morning out and my boy loved it! Thank you, Katy and Ruben

Rutland Park Farm and Daphne's Tea Room: A Delightful Day Out

Rutland Park Farm is a charming escape right on my doorstep in Oakham. The warm welcome from the owner and staff sets the tone for a truly enjoyable visit. It's fascinating to explore a working farm, getting up close with the various animals. The footpath is well-laid out, making it easy to wander through the farm and even discover a peaceful woodland area.

After a leisurely stroll, Daphne's Tea Room is the perfect spot to relax and refuel. The delicious cakes and other treats are a delightful treat, and the gift shop offers a lovely selection of souvenirs, including the local Rutland Honey made here in Oakham - a must-buy for any foodie!

With the sun shining, it's hard to beat spending an afternoon surrounded by nature and friendly animals. A perfect day out!

Today was our second visit to Rutland Farm Park. We absolutely love it here. So many animals in lovely big enclosures, from ducks, geese and chickens, to sheep, goats, alpacas, pigs, donkeys and horses and more! Not forgetting the different breeds of cows, including highland cows! Plus a small animal barn with rabbits, guinea pigs and different breeds of chickens. My girls love having guinea pig cuddles, and feeding the sheep and goats. The staff were amazing today, and despite literally only having 1 team member in the cafe, they produced an amazing, pre-booked, afternoon tea for us. Delicious food, had by all, including a lovely gluten free afternoon tea. They are currently upgrading alot of the enclosures to make improvements across the farm, but they still had time for lots of interaction with the animals through feeding demonstrations and guinea pig cuddles and meet the snails. The kids love the play park too, which includes lots of different play equipment. There are also lots of places to sit with your picnic lunch, where the resident chickens or geese come over to say hello. An absolute gem of a place that really effects my girls, as my eldest always gets upset when we have to leave.

We had a great afternoon at the farm park. So many animals, the alpacas were my favorite. We bought some food to feed them and it was great fun. We ate in the cafe, huge portions of food and very nicely presented. The staff are lovely and friendly. Shall certainly be going back with the rest of the family x

A lovely farm park! With plenty of animals to see for little ones! Only downside is we looked at the signage to see what was happening on the day we visited and waited but we didn’t see anyone to do what was planned. But there also seems more working going on so will continue to visit!
