We ordered some drinks, loaded fries, goat cheese salads, veggie meatball sub. And we sat upstairs.

The sub meat balls were not cooked well/dry.
The scones were broken when given. There was no cutlery till we asked. My smoothie was fine but the 2 coffees weren’t great. The atmosphere upstairs felt like an attic (the downstairs was better), and the music kept going on and off. One of the waiters was really sweet but overall the service was slow, the food was meh, and the upstairs had a poor atmosphere.

Busy little caff on corner plot near station. Breakfasts served until 11.30 a.m. Vegetarian and vegan options available. Great carrot cake.

Our first visit and would definitely recommend. Great vibe and the food was delicious. We had soup, home made with lovely croutons and pea shoot garnish with a delicious toasted cheese scone with an expensive looking butter portion. The pie was a hit too. Great coffee in lovely cups. The small details make this place special. 4 stars for service only because our table wasn’t wiped when it was cleared before we sat down but we were grateful to be seated quickly. Staff were all friendly.

I like Signals, and have been coming here for a few years, but I’m finding it to be pretty hit and miss for the past year. The food is good and is reasonably priced for what it is. Unfortunately, the hot drinks are lacking and are quite overpriced. £3.95 for a small plain hot chocolate that tastes ok is ridiculous. Make it a decent size, at least, for that much. The service can really differ, depending on who you get. Some staff are wonderful and very friendly, while others are standoffish and lack basic manners (mainly the younger ones). Most of the seating is fine but those tall stools upstairs are very uncomfortable. The atmosphere really depends on who’s in there. Sometimes it’s lovely and relaxed, other times it’s a nightmare with noisy kids and dogs barking getting out of hand. It quickly gets too much and it would be really nice to have a dog-free area. By all means, visit this place, but maybe go during the week.

The food was excellent, with a wide range of breakfast options, including a lot for veggies. The vegetarian breakfast flatbread was a beauty. You can have your breakfast items on a plate, in a stack, in a wrap, on a bagel, in a sandwich.. probably various other ways if you can think 'em up. If you're sitting upstairs you have to order through the QR code (downstairs gets table service) which is mostly ok but they don't have options for certain things like decaf coffee (which you have to go downstairs and order separately). The vibes are definitely more brunch cafe downstairs and more bar/taproom upstairs but both work for both I imagine. Tons of dogs yay!
