Whilst on a weekend break in the New Forest we visited this lovely church. Impressed by the stained glass windows and the beautiful interior. Interesting that there were no pews just modern seats. The grave of the girl who supposedly Alice in Wonderland is based on is at the rear if the church.

Wow! Angels by name and angels by nature - they are everywhere in this lovely old church, in the woodwork, the masonry, the stained glass, on doors, and life size ones on the ceiling. It is a glorious church, with a quite astonishing interior. It has the grave of Mrs Reginald Hargreaves in its graveyard. Mrs Hargreaves was Alice Liddell, the girl who was Lewis Carroll's inspiration for Alice In Wonderland. There are plentiful information boards with lots of fascinating details about all of this and the history and background. The church has some vividly coloured frescoes by Leighton which are quite lovely. Burne-Jones, Rossetti and William Morris also have left their marks here. This is a Grade 1 listed building. Brilliant and quite simply glorious. Highly recommended.

I visited This lovely church on the 7th of November with my mum. Two ladies were serving tea and cakes on a volunteer basis. Mum was cold so we went inside, they were really welcoming and the atmosphere was really special. We came away with a lovely memory. They serve a hot drinks the first Tuesday of the month. Thank you ladies you made us feel really welcome. Look round the church and see the Alison wonderland connection and please make a donation to the church. Thanks again

Lovely Gothic style church sat on a hill in Lyndhurst over looking the village. Small churchyard but with a famous grave of Mrs. Reginald Hargreaves, the “Alice ” in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. Inside a Fresco of 19th Century stands out in the East end with lighting beaming onto the Angels in the roof.

Beautiful and imposing mid Victorian church built from coloured bricks and tiles. It is filled with high quality stained glass and paintings, and wooden and stone carvings. The fresco behind the altar is the parable of the Wise and Foolish virgins. The stained glass is by the pre-Raphaelites. Very well worth a visit.
