Stourhead is absolutely stunning. The views around the lake are beautiful, and the gardens are spectacular. There’s so much to see and there is a lot of fascinating history. There are so many great trails. This place is well worth a visit, and it’s an amazing spot for photography.

Absolutely glorious place during all seasons. I went a couple of weeks ago on a Monday and it was quite quiet. Inspired me to get a national trust membership again. Fantastic for walks, lots of great trails, amazing for photography. Accessible paths all over. The tea room is very expensive and had a big queue so I suggest bringing a picnic. There's a wonderful coffee van nearby at King Alfred's Tower called Alpine Coffee Co.. quieter, lovely setting near the tower, great prices and the cakes are incredible.
All in all a wonderful visit to this place. The house wasn't open but I was more than happy with a walk around the scenic grounds

Stourhead has been one of my favorite places to visit since I was a kid. The gardens are one of the most beautiful in Britain.

I paid more attention this time to the tour of the house and learned the history of it which was really interesting.

It’s a National Trust site and a great day out with the family or to have a picnic. There’s a small cost to enter but it’s reasonable.

Visited Stourhead gardens many times over the last 30+ years as a member or a visitor. Probably one of my favourites. They have regular events. Grounds are absolutely fantastic. Everyone knows about the amazing rhododendrons and beautiful when in bloom. Temples, grotto and goths cottage are beautiful. Cafes are well stocked and gift shops what you'd expect. Beautiful place to visit and a beautiful part of the country. A credit to National trust

Lovely little place to visit, car park was very busy, if the weather is good I would definitely recommend taking a picnic as the gardens are massive and plenty of places to sit and eat. The house is lovely but you can walk round it all and be done in 30 mins so not the biggest house around although structurally it is massive it's just you can't go to the wings or upstairs .... bit of a shame. All in all a nice relaxed afternoon.

Vast estate to have a wander. Interesting house to visit too. Excellent gift shops and restaurant with plentiful seating. Allow many hours to view everything properly including long walks around the very pretty grounds. Well worth a visit

Stourhead is a beautiful historic house which also boasts 2,650 acres of man made lakes, temples, grottos and of course flourishing gardens.

The house and gardens are now preserved by the assistance of the National trust.
During certain time of the year the main house is closed off to the public to allow existing family to reside in the house so please plan your visits!

The gardens are stunning!
There is so much to take in from beautifully crafted bridges,
Swooping and vast water banks that allow you to get close to the lake and admire the view,
Small dark grotto that was tucked away which gives you an eerie yet tranquil feeling as soon as you enter.
And even the jaw dropping tulip tree in the central island in the lake.

Those of you who intend to visit for the geek history you won’t be disappointed, everywhere has glimpses of what the effect of Greek gods would have had when building certain structures.
The temple which famously is featured in pride and prejudice and is now used for modern day weddings with a breath taking view can be seen from across the lake when you’re standing outside The Pantheon.
Inside this grand looking structure you can find hand crafted sculptures.

The volunteers from the National trust that are dotted around the main walkways are very passionate and provide great information about the wonders of Stourhead.

Modernised cafes and shops have been implemented to allow visitors to refresh and enjoy the remote location during their visit.
These facilities are very pleasant.

Iconic views are currently framed by autumn colour. Dog friendly and popular with children too. The grounds are beautifully maintained.
