It all began 3 years ago with a visit from a fabulous community minded duo whose aim was to share their art and creative skills to improve health and wellbeing.

engAGE for people aged 55+ and Encompass are grant funded projects delivering activities and events from Linskill Centre in North Shields and we are hugely lucky to count takepART North East as one of our delivery partners. Jennifer has inspired our Hobby Club with a number of creative workshops where people can take the skills they have learnt to continue mindful crafting at home. Our service users report feeling happier and having more confidence after attending take pART workshops. "I feel proud of myself for what I have achieved" "I have had a very enjoyable afternoon and felt relaxed and I met new people"

Jennifer's workshops are very well planned and delivered so that everyone attending feels welcome, relaxed and leaves with a new skill. Costs for the workshops are extremely reasonable which is greatly appreciated! Thank You!

We were especially lucky during the height of Lockdown to work with takepART North East to continue reaching people at home via ZOOM which was just amazing! People handcrafted hanging baskets from items in the house, tried their hand at Mexican Weaving and enjoyed making homemade Envelopes from recycled paper - a huge amount of fun and support during such a rotten time.

Jenny visited one of our recent Smell the Roses ReTreat days, helping us out at the last minute due to an unforeseen change in the date of our event, and delivered a craft workshop for the mums / carers who attended. The activity she had planned (sewing lavender hearts) was pitched perfectly in terms of the ladies who attended our event and also in terms of the branding of our charity. Jenny has a lovey manner about her, and the session was very well received by both our clients and our team of volunteers. We at Smell the Roses would not hesitate to recommend Jenny wholeheartedly.

Jenny approached us with an opportunity for our student to take part in a community project, sewing a rainbow. Our students received sewing packs which came with easy to follow instructions and all the materials to take part in the online, 2 hour session. The session was fully subscribed and Jenny helped the group to feel relaxed and welcome and gave clear guidance at a pace where each person had time to grasp what was required to complete the activity. Everyone found it easy to follow. As well as taking part in a creative activity it gave our students the opportunity to interact with each other and have a laugh. It was a thoroughly enjoyable session.
