First visit since the cafe opened. Just had a coffee. I'm really not sure why cafes list so many coffees when the flat white just looked like a normal coffee with milk!! Would be nice if cafes made more effort to produce decent coffee especially when they charge so much. Needs to be good, strong coffee or just don't bother. You have a lot of potential so please try harder.

This review is for the cafe, not the farm shop.
I have been here a couple of times in the last year or so but have been too late to visit the cafe. Today however I was out on my motorcycle and managed to get there about 12.30. I finally managed to find the Cafe entrance right down the back. It was open as the lights were on so I went in. No customers and more importantly no staff either. I waited for 10 minutes and somebody came out from the shop and went straight in to the kitchen. They then got into a conversation in the kitchen that went on for a bit. I called out three times and eventually someone else came out to speak to me. I asked for a coffee and bacon roll and the first thing she looked at was her watch but apparently I passed the time test so she took my order. A black Americano and a Bacon Roll. I know that they cook the roll to order so expected that to take a few minutes but even so the coffee was made immediately. I took it outside to drink it as I was dressed in riding gear. About 10 minutes after I had finished the coffee then bacon roll turns up. I was about to leave at that point. But the server who brought it out to me was perfectly pleasant although not aware of the wait. Both the Coffee and the Roll were absolutely fine but at no point was any semblance of customer service in play. No apology for the delay, no offer of any sauces with the roll. And to be frank a second cup of coffee should have been offered because of the delay. To top this all, a black coffee and a basic (but well filled) bacon bap was an eye waterlingly expensive £9.85.
No wonder they don't have many customers.
I certainly won't be back.

I recently visited for a lunchtime treat with my wife, and we had a fantastic experience! We both enjoyed delicious oat milk café lattes that were perfectly creamy and rich. The smoothies were refreshing and packed with flavor, making them a great complement to our meal.

For food, we ordered the cheese toastie, which was wonderfully gooey and satisfying, and the bacon, eggs, and avocado on toasted sourdough bread, which was simply divine. The sourdough was perfectly toasted, providing a lovely crunch that paired beautifully with the creamy avocado and savory bacon.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a delightful lunchtime visit, and I can’t wait to return to try more from their menu!

Great pit stop. Fab farm shop with great produce. Fresh sausage rolls. Salads and sandwiches. Cakes looked good. Good coffee sold from silver airstream. There is a new cafe The Lodge around to the rear. Lots of indoor seating, did not eat there. Loos. The outside seating areas need some TLC. And the 'path' to the Lodge cafe was very rocky and stony.

We had a lovely visit to The Lodge at Taywell's! We enjoyed the bruschetta and toasted sandwich for lunch, both of which were delicious. Afterward, we popped into the farm shop to pick up a few bits. A special shoutout to Chef Maranda, who came out to speak with us and made our experience feel even more welcoming – a really nice personal touch. Despite it being very busy, there was no delay in receiving our meals. The menu offers a great variety, including smoothies, fresh cakes, teas, and coffees – something for everyone! The staff were professional throughout, and a big thank you to Trinny, our wonderful server. We'll definitely be back!

The farm shop was fine. bought delicious eggs there. unfortunately the lunchroom was disappointing.
What we called burnt toast was simply toasted according to the service and yes, it could turn out very black. so stay at the front of the shop.

We went for coffee this morning, first time since the coffee shop has opened, coffee was fine, but my coffee and walnut cake was a bit dry for my liking, maybe a chiller cabinet would help in the hot weather. I did like the inside of the unit, and from what I could see their cooked breakfast looks very good, well worth a visit.
