Wow, wow, wow. Best Sunday dinner I've had in years. Maybe ever had...and I'm fussy as Hell!

Visiting my fiancée's Dad, who lives next to this lovely pub, we knew it would be nice as per his recommendation, but didn't expect it to be this perfect.

Service was brilliant and welcoming. The food, seriously was to die for. Meat that was a brilliant cut, cooked perfectly, with tender texture and so much flavour. The veg was all fresh, flavoursome and the cauliflower cheese was the best I've had, hands down.

The stuffing was like my Dad's Christmas stuffing, never had stuffing like that in any pub or restaurant.

Chef was also so friendly and appreciative of my compliments about the food - clearly a really caring owner and team here. 5 stars.

We shall be back, the hour's drive will be 100% worth it!

Excellent Sunday lunch with friends. Very good food, good service and nice atmosphere. Friends all had trio of meat which they thoroughly enjoyed, I had the twice cooked lamb which was too salty, but enjoyed the rest. Lemon meringue pavlova was lush.

Fantastic Sunday lunch! Very busy pub- glad we booked. Food was faultless and the prices very reasonable. Not sure if its a normal, everyday thing but you pay at the bar and they give you a vibrating flashing disc that tells you when your food is ready to collect from the serving hatch. The only table service is to clear away empties. The beef was melt in your mouth, and the cauliflower cheese was superb. Proper home cooked crispy roasties- just wow! Dessert was absolutely delicious! Can't recommend this place enough.
