Went on the off chance for Sunday Lunch with the family. To be honest everything was more than great, such a friendly welcoming atmosphere and the food incredible!! Not something I ever thought I'd say, but the best chips I have ever had (must be quadruple cooked) and the pastry on the home made pie - so full of flavour. My son had the Roast and it was superb beef and a Yorkshire the size of his head, with a gravy that I could happily drink 🙂 I can't thank you enough for a really superb experience.

Beautiful little pub with great service and menu! Food was brilliant. We've been there in a small group and recently a large group for an occasion and we've never had any issues.
They also did smaller portions of the normal menu for the toddler in our group, which was great!

We went for Sunday lunch as we were staying in the area with my parents for a long weekend. |The pub its self is beautiful proper old school chunky wooden tables and chairs with a wood burner in the restaurant and a cosy decor, the beer garden looked delightful with a steam running along its side but alas it was running. Three of us had the rare roast beef which came with all trimmings and it was honestly the best roast beef Sunday lunch I’ve had which hasn’t been home cooked and for £22 it was a bargain because it was top quality. The staff are friendly, courtesy and very helpful. |If your in the area please pop in and enjoy their fantastic service and food and drink you won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful lunch at The Fox on Saturday. Really warm welcome, excellent and very helpful service but all very relaxed. Food combination of pub classics and some excellent specials all cooked very well. Thoroughly recommend , well done ?

We were driving along, hungry and tired and ready for a break, when the Fox popped into view like something out of a movie. Xanadu! Warmth and food and liquid refreshment to heal the weary traveler! Food was lovely, beautiful garden area right on the water. Cannot recommend more highly, a must stop!

Really wonderful and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was outstanding and plenty of choice for breakfast all set in beautiful countryside. I'll definitely be going back. Even though you are in a tiny village, you are still very close to burford, stow and Bourton-on-the-Water.

What an exceptionally super place to find hidden away. The location is simply amazing. The ancient horse chestnut and the river running by welcome you with warmth as you arrive.
The young staff in the bar are very welcoming and efficient. The beer, wine and food are superb.
The bedroom is very large with a huge shower room and has generous tea/coffee/bottled water.
Breakfast produced the most wonderful eggs benedict with coffee, toast and cereal to start the day well.
WiFi was super throughout the building.
Highly recommended.

Very uninspiring menu. We were after snacks but would certainly not recommend this place as the menu choice was very limited.|On a more serious note, namely health & safety & possibly food hygiene, I don't think this pub should have been open on Monday, August 12th, as ALL the toilets were out of order. Why was this? Was there no water? If the supply of water was cut off, how was the kitchen able to function adequately & how did the staff working in the kitchen or those serving food wash their hands & clean surfaces, etc? Who made the decision to open for business? So many questions. We will never revisit this establishment unless it changes hands. Just because the setting is beautiful and it has an Oxfordshire postcode does not mean you can provide a sub-standard experience. Not once did any member of staff apologise or explain about the bathroom situation. Better training in PR & etiquette would go a long way to improve matters.
