Visiting The Fox and Goose for Sunday Lunch was a lovely experience. |We were served an excellent roast dinner with a variety of fresh vegetables|of tender stem broccoli, beetroot, carrot, parsnip, potatoes and cauliflower cheese|along with a Yorkshire pudding. The beef and lamb was plentiful and tender,|The plates were large and hot which is just what you want. Service was quick and the staff attentive. A glass of Merlot was well received and reasonably priced.|The downside was lack of choice with desserts. Mousse, Tiramisu or|“ one piece of cheesecake “. Considering we were the first diners in for the day this seemed lacking, especially when the choice was shouted over to us from the bar🤣|All in all though, a main meal to recommend and I look forward to a return visit.|I would recommend booking though as some customers walked in “ off the street” and, because they couldn’t be served for another hour as there was “ a party of nine” booked in, they left. It wasn’t a full restaurant by any means with about 20 persons all tolled, and I would suggest that , as the chef had time to come out and speak to customers, these people could have been accommodated. After all, there were 5 people working there and I’m sure their wages would need paying. Just a thought.

Aidan and Craig could not have been kinder or more helpful. It was lovely chatting to them. The room was beautiful and the facilities fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with them.

Returning to this delightful restaurant for a second night. Unbelievably good food with generous portions, reasonably priced, what more can I say. Well, Craig was so kind after cooking all evening he came and chatted with us for a while. A very talented cook, his choice of dishes is first class. Locally sourced and presented with true flair this establishment is a real find, we cannot recommend it highly enough.

Just stayed the one night , had a great experience,
Rooms were comfy , with a very good bathroom and shower .
Nice evening meal , and a good breakfast the next morning.
I can honestly say thd best poached eggs I've ever had

Very disappointed as was hoping for much better, having been recommended to dine here. We had fish and chips, the chips were completely rock hard, extremely over done, even if we wanted to eat them, it was not an option as they were hard as concrete. Sadly a 2/10, also the place was empty, so maybe others are disappointed.

Lovely little pub. 4 of us and 3 dogs all enjoyed an evening meal. The food was excellent and service very good. A great choice of ales and a very nice bar area to enjoy them in. We really liked the vibe of the place with country music in the background. 5 stars.

Six of us went for lunch, two had burgers, one had cod and sautéed potatoes, two had fish and chips and I had the venison stroganoff, which was lovely,everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, would 100% recommend to anyone, thank you for a great experience.

Still top of the list! New ownership has brought some new and interesting twists with the favourites still there and always delicious. We only come to Devon a handful of times a year but The Fox and Goose is a must visit each time. We were unsure after a change of hands if it would be up to the usual standards but it absolutely surpassed expectations. Quality was amazing and the staff lovely as always. Price is also very reasonable, would pay far more for the same meal near home. Without the excellent atmosphere.
