Fantastic cafe, elevated amongst the usual kind of place by the amazing food and welcoming atmosphere. We tried the Fish finger sandwich (huge!), a beetroot and stilton hash and the Welsh rarebit. All absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this cafe - definitely worth making a visit to Chagford just to eat here

We had an excellent experience at the Old Forge. We arrived after lunch on a Tuesday afternoon with a party of 15, including hordes of children, and yet they agreed to seat us and despite appearing to be a team of 2 staff/owners, they were extremely friendly and accommodating.
The food was absolutely delicious! The smoked salmon hash was a stand out and the scones were so good - perfect texture, and served with a choice of craft jams. Could not have been happier that we stopped here.

Popped by a couple of days ago and had the most wonderful Cream Tea - freshly made scones, warm and moist - they were absolutely perfect. Would definitely head back - maybe trying one of their themed evenings.

Had a wonderfully fresh, warm, Scone of the Week (apple and blueberry). Friendly, efficient service, clean, bright decor featuring local artists' work (and a ceramic Elvis gorilla!), all at a decent price. Highly recommended!

Lovely tea room. We had tea and scones, well worth it. Big, warm and tasty. Two jams from local source. Proper clotted cream. Accessibility is limited, due to age of building.
