Dining Experience

Reviews on Google My Business highlight a generally positive experience, despite a notable variation in service quality. The food quality is praised for being well-presented and delicious, with timely service even during busy periods. The attentive staff, particularly a lovely woman who ensured the dining experience was enjoyable despite her challenging circumstances, showcases the restaurant's potential for exceptional service.

However, it's clear that not all interactions are as positive. Some visitors encountered a less welcoming staff member whose demeanor seemed to overshadow the quality of the food and service. This experience, while unfortunate for those affected, doesn't define the overall dining ethos of the establishment.

The positives: The restaurant quality food was well presented and delicious. It was served quite quickly despite being very busy.
The second person to serve us was lovely. She was smiling and very friendly despite being run off her feet.
Unfortunately the young lady who ‘greeted’ us and took our order was apparently training for the ‘rudest person to work in hospitality’ award. Please and thank you were apparently not in her vocabulary and her single facial expression did nothing to disguise the fact that customers were nothing more than an annoyance to her.

Nice enough but a little expensive for the standard/quality received. 2 Sunday carveries and 3 kids meals set me back almost £70 for what was a pretty mediocre dining experience. A regular glass of (flat) coke cost £2.50! (More than the cost of a 2ltr bottle)

The staff did their best to accommodate us although they seemed very overwhelmed at times.

On the whole I think the owners have delusions of grandeur when setting the prices. I get that times are tough but this is not a high end restaurant.

Don't think I'll go out of my way to visit again, shame.

I am becoming a regular here, lovely dog walk to enjoy a coffee and cake, dog friendly and always gets a bowl of water and a couple of treats. Have eaten main meals here a few times too which are all homemade and piping hot, good choice and nicely presented. Really friendly staff, polite and chatty. Highly recommend.

Found this little gem. Extremely welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious ( especially the homemade chips ! ), just what was needed after a walk around the local woods and canal.

Hi. Called in today at 9.50 am for a breakfast after walking our dog. We sat down and I went to order. I was told (politely) that I would have to wait for 10 minutes before ordering as there was a children’s party. There were 4 members of staff standing at the counter and I asked if we could have a coffee while we waited. I was told, ‘No’ (abruptly). For the first time (after visiting often, over 5 years) we walked out and went somewhere else.

The Pavilion is very lovely and family friendly and also dog friendly. We love going here for a drink, especially on a hot day. Lots of outdoor seating areas which is useful as we have a big dog.
Only reason for 4 stars is due to the menu. There used to be such great food selection in the past but recently it seems to be just basic/standard food.

Would love to try their cocktails though as they look yummy!
