Had an excellent carvery here. You can go back for more - including the meats. They stopped serving at 3 and we got there about 10 to. Despite this, they never attempted to rush us and we were able to enjoy the full range of food in our own time. We ate our fill and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The only slight downside was that the veg wasn't quite as hot as I'd like but I think that's probably due to the time we arrived.

There were three real ales available - 2 on tap and 1 hand pull - and they were all delicious.

On top of all the above, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I look forward to going back.

Had an absolutely outstanding carvery here. The chef carving the meat was so friendly and generous with the portions. The carvery is fantastic value for money and it was unlimited so had to go up for seconds! Would definitely recommend.

I'm only going to review the food and access to the bar. My wife and I choose to go here having heard the food was good. Phoned ahead and booked table for lunch expressly said 1 in wheelchair. Directed to rear car park (only one and small) for access to building down a ramp. Great arrived and could not get in because even though a ramp to get you to rear door there is a large step at door ok for manual wheelchairs but no good for electric. We could not access and went to leave. Told access from front was possible down alley to right of from facade but not back. So travelled to front down alley to side door. This had a raised threshold to cross but made it.

Now onto carvey there was plenty of choice and I had some of each. Unlike most carveries you can go back again and refill your plates. Food was fine the biggest issue was it was not very warm at all which spoilt the occasion for us.

Overall access poor food not hot. Service was great nothing too much trouble. If carvery was hotter it would have great. But go and have a try just don't visit with an electric wheelchair.

Went to try the afternoon carvery with the wife, the staff were very pleasant and helpful the food was cooked to perfection, there were 4 different meats Turkey, Pork, Beef & Gammon plus a pie with a very good choice of veg, gravy and Yorkshire pudding, if you were hungry you could have everything and go back for seconds including the meats which is different to other carvery's where you can only go back for veg. The food was nice and hot and the servings were plentiful. The choice of dessert are also very good and plenty to choose from and prices are excellent, we will definitely be returning ?

On a recent visit to this area we stopped for lunch at the Sheffield Arms. We had the choice of both A la carte and carvery but went with the carvery.

There was a great choice of meats and pies plus lots of different veg. All cooked perfectly and served by friendly and helpful staff. At £7.95 you would have to go a long way to beat it!!

Thanks to everyone there

I’ve been here 5+ times as live 5mins away always had good food until last night. Chips was undercooked and everything was covered in oil. My wife had bits of her meal missing. Bar staff was told and apologised but no refund was discussed just an apology. The people before us also complained and got a refund. Definitely wouldn’t rush back

Found this pub whilst looking for somewhere to eat near the speedway that wasn't a chain of fast food outlets. Pub car park small, but welcome and range of drinks and food was good. Scampi & chips my 'never fail' favourite was tasty and plentiful. I had to ask for a lemon wedge though and tartar sauce and unfortunately the tartar was given to me in 3 small sachets - a slight let down. Also after eating a few pieces of scampi I came across wilted lettuce that someone must have thought good as a bed for the scampi, really should have been on the side as a garnish!? I did mention this to an attentive female staff member, who enquired if our meals were ok and she said she would pass it onto the chef. Skin on fries were a lovely change instead of usual chips. Our other meal choice was Hunters chicken, the chicken was slightly dry, but my husband was hungry and just ate it all. He's not one for complaining, but I feel it's constructive feedback if you are asked. A friendly local pub with a warming charm and we would return to.
