Superb food and great service. A real favourite of ours when in the Church Fenton area.
Menu changes fairly regularly but always consistently good selection of food with something for everyone.
Quality and standard of food is consistently good - we've had fish dishes, steaks, burgers and other meat dishes over the years and everything has always been of great quality.
Worth mentioning that the kids menu is good too - great choice and good sized portions which is useful to know if you have a tween with a healthy appetite.
Staff really lovely and welcoming.
Also very helpful.
Really recommend.

We love this place and the food is amazing. Our last visit was quite disappointing though :(. No food is now served outside (fair enough, but a bit of a shame), outside area is not very pushchair friendly (pebbles) and the baby changing area is one of the worst ones I have ever seen. Changing table is so high it makes it difficult for an averagely tall woman to change a baby 🙁 garden furniture is dirty, cushions are lying everywhere (apart from on the chairs) and in 40 minutes that we were there, nobody came to collect dirty glasses. It’s a bit of a shame as we love this place and again the food is incredible and stuff is really nice.

Really nice clean restaurant and helpful friendly staff.
Starters were excellent and puddings were excellent.
Unfortunately we ordered steak and despite the meat being cooked as it should (rare) it was chewy and practically inedible.
This place would be 5* but it's choice of butcher let's it down.

The food was excellent. This is a very busy place, so expect to wait at peak time. I felt our wait of 50 minutes was a bit long, but would definitely go again.

This is really a food pub, but it has an outside seating area which is quite attractive and sheltered. We had a few drinks outside during the warm weather and then returned for Sunday lunch. An excellent lunch with a good choice of roast meats, all served with Yorkshire puds and fresh vegetables. Well worth the money, we were stuffed. Dogs welcome too, thanks

I visited the whole horse on a family birthday. What a pleasant surprise. A relatively modern look and feel inside. Nice and clean nothing over the top decor wise. The service was excellent & fast. The menu looked pretty standard but the surprise came when the food arrived. It looked excellent and tasted great. Well above what we expected for a village pub. I'd definitely recommend it and we'll be visiting again.
