First class service from Robin Appel the MD to our request. He was helpful and informative and while we were not able to proceed with our malting,this was down us and our grain quality, we hope that we may be able to do business with the Maltings in the near future and hope to build a long term relationship between us.

A group of retired guys visited Warminster Maltings for a tour to see the process of converting grain to malt. Most of the grain used to produce malt is barley but they do produce malt from wheat and rye. When we arrived we were met warmly by Robin Appel the owner. The start of the visit was an excellent buffet and an equally excellent locally brewed ale. Robin bought the maltings some twelve years back when it was in a sad state of repair with leaking roofs and other major defects. Today it is a building to be proud of, much as it was in its early days. Robin has an obvious enthusiasm for his new venture of producing malt in a traditional manner and was upbeat for the future of Warminster Maltings. As we moved around the building seeing the various stages of malting Robin was very knowledgeable of the process and answered any questions asked. A most enjoyable visit and one that can be confidently recommended.
