A beautiful journey, with wonderful scenery. It is so relaxing as you pass through all the stations listening to the steam train chugging along and enjoying the scenery. Once at the end of the line at Minehead we was able to enjoy lunch at the Turntable Cafe then we travelled back to Watchet and spent some time there. The staff were so friendly and helpful and there was access for wheelchairs on and off the trains, everything was so smoothly done. WSR is an amazing day out and I never get bored of visiting there.

Lovely journey- staff are brilliant. A real experience of railway travel in bygone days. Rover ticket is a great option. As we went off season only 4 trains each way- check timetable carefully to plan your day.

Loved this!
I had gifted an afternoon tea on the WSR, having never been on it before. The volunteers were cheerful, helpful and friendly and really helped make the experience enjoyable. Portions were good, plenty to nibble on! Slight delay on the way so didn't get much time in Minehead as planned but the trip was great. Would recommend.

We paid £66 for two return tickets from Bishop's Lydiard to Minehead. A steam locomotive both ways, which was entertaining. Very few classic carriage compartments. Most were 1970s style metal racks, formica tabletops, moquette seating. No leather straps evident on windows. A good experience however. Pick a seat near the engine to maximise auditory chuffing entertainment.

Lovely steam train trip with afternoon tea. Advanced booking needed for special events like this. Wait on platform to be called and board c15 mins before departure. Very delicious food, generous opportunities for tea/coffee. Staff polite and friendly. Only get c20 mins at Minehead before return journey, but enough to get out and admire the locomotive. Highly recommended for a nice afternoon out.

Had an afternoon tea booked for my mums 98th birthday, the food was gorgeous however I didn't realise we'd be sitting at a table with 2 other people, luckily they were a nice couple but it could really have been spoilt if we'd have been put with some of the others on board. You don't get to chose your table and some lucky people get put in 1st class with just a table for 2. For that reason I wouldn't book again but if you're going as a group of 4 then I thoroughly recommend it. The food really is delicious

Fantastic Fish & Chips Steam Train ... Lovely staff and very well.orgnaised... fish and chips were really great and the cream tea on the return journey was yummy... Love the real cutlery and napkins and table cloth... Great choice for drinks with the fish and chips ... Highly recommend

Really enjoyable train trip. The local brewery is s short trip from the station.
Interesting set of locks and wonderful to go behind steam for a distant length of track.
