The hotel is positioned very conveniently with restaurants, cafes and pubs within walking distance. And, of course it’s in the middle of the wonderful New Forest and within driving distance of Lymington, which is charming. The room we had was clean and reasonably equipped. It was hot and the windows do not appear to open but that is not unusual when the room is on the ground floor. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The dissatisfaction we had was in the food and drink delivery. I asked for a brandy and dry ginger and was told that was not possible. I switched to a Bloody Mary which was also not possible. The breakfast was really below expectation. Though the menu offered eggs Benedict with smoked salmon but we were told, on both mornings, that there was no smoked salmon. I finally opted for pancakes. The pancakes were so hard they were really difficult to cut and basically inedible. The amount of meat in the bacon was probably 5 or 6 grams, the majority of the rashers being fat. It would appear to need a stronger management of the delivery.

I would like to firstly express how welcoming and customer friendly the team were throughout my stay, also the food was lovely and well presented. I would like to mention that the room i stay in (room 5) was next to or was situated nearby appliances (with perhaps fans) which continuously made a noise throughout the night - travel/road noise was expected due to the location of the establishment. If i were to stay here again i would look to avoid this room as i am a light sleeper.

Cozy and friendly. Room is clean and the bed is super comfortable. Sunday roast was delicious. Staff are very friendly and efficient

Good location with friendly and helpful staff.

Rooms are pretty disappointing, outdated furniture and a lack of attention to detail with decorating (you can literally see where the paint ran out on the roller on the one coat they applied.)

Just another place with rooms that could be soo much better with a bit of money spending in the right places and some attention to detail.

I dined at this restaurant twice in one week. The food was consistently good, and the service was excellent. We were attended by a lovely waitress named Bunny, who was attentive, friendly, and kind.

The atmosphere is spacious and relaxing, and the food was very good on both visits.

It's a fantastic spot for eating and drinking, with very reasonable prices.
