I wrote a review for this business last April and can't find it or see the pictures I did. So here's another in the hope it doesn't disappear. I purchased several fence panels of the hit n miss style and a couple of concrete posts. The business is a father and son one if I remember correct and most of my dealings were with the son. I remember when I did this previously that someone had written that they were rude and abrupt. I would disagree with that, they are abrupt but they know what they are doing and are very good at it. If they make suggestions, it is worth listening and not dismissing them as rude. Abrupt? Well, welcome to North Yorkshire. I got good advice, my stuff delivered in good time and when they said they would. They explained why they could only deliver to the front of the house, which I understood. In addition, the son made sure I had some spare battons in case I needed to trim any panels. The quality and prices are as good or better than you will find anywhere else. Would I use them again? Absolutely. Would I recommend them? Without reservation as I am doing here. I apologise to them both for the missing review because I was so pleased with them that I said I would put one up for them. Just for clarities sake, they did not ask for this review nor did I receive any discounts or reward for writing this. It is purely based on my experience of purchasing from them.

Addendum... I just found the original review I wrote back in March/April 2024 that seemed to disappear. I've decided to add it to the one I just wrote to replace it for peoples information.

'I first contacted this company at the end of Covid isolation. They weren't taking any new orders at the time as they were playing catch up like the rest of the country. I contacted them again recently for an updated price list and then went to have a chat and order my panels. I found both the father and son who run the business know their stuff. Me, I know wood grows on trees and that's about it. They were really helpful and friendly and propper Yorkshire, blunt and to the point. I see some have taken it to be rude but it isn't that at all. They helped me with advice, choices and styles but left the decision with me without undue pressure. I've called back twice now and always found them helpful. My order was placed and paid for upfront, no concerns about that, they are a well established business with a good reputation. I asked about delivery and was offered it free as where I lived wasn't too far and they had other business out my way. I'm just awaiting the delivery, as I write this in fact. As soon as they deliver and I can take some pictures of the panels, get some details on their make up, I'll post this review.

Well the delivery has been done and they unloaded it all onto my front as agreed. They couldn't deliver it round the back where I need them because their insurance won't cover them for that. It was an expensive lesson they learnt previously and I fully understand. They left it all nice and neat (See the photo). I will be using them again, I can almost guarantee it as the neighbour saw my delivery and came out to discuss the fence between them and us. I will try to get York Sawmill the business as I am chuffed to boogery with the panels I have and service I received.

Brilliant service as always from York Sawmill. I knew what I wanted to build but not sure how to or what materials to use. Paul and Simon gave me great advice and provided all the materials at a great price. I've used them for nearly 40 years and have never been let down. Wonderful, hard working business who cannot do enough for the customer. We have had a great deal of timber supplied by York Sawmill over a period of around five years and have always had first class service and quality product. If you want to see how good their product is, give them a visit or come down to our football ground and see it in use.
